Introduction
Evrmore (EVR) is a decentralized, open-source Layer 1 blockchain focused on decentralized finance, digital assets, and commerce. The network extends the Bitcoin-style UTXO model with native asset and DeFi primitives, allowing assets and financial functionality to be built directly into the blockchain protocol.
Evrmore uses Proof of Work with the EvrProgPow mining algorithm and is designed around transparent, permissionless participation. EVR is the native cryptocurrency used for transactions, mining rewards, asset operations, and activity across the Evrmore ecosystem.
Project Background
Evrmore was created as a blockchain focused on decentralized finance and digital asset functionality while retaining the UTXO architecture used by Bitcoin and Ravencoin. Its protocol includes built-in asset primitives that allow users to create and manage blockchain assets without relying on general-purpose smart contracts.
Evrmore also incorporates native DeFi functionality at the protocol level, including features designed for asset trading, financial transactions, and more complex transaction structures. The project is open source and designed to allow developers and users to build applications directly around the network.
The network uses EvrProgPow, a GPU-oriented Proof of Work algorithm, and targets approximately 60-second blocks. EVR is used throughout the network for transaction fees, asset operations, mining rewards, and other blockchain activity.
History
Evrmore was developed by members of the Ravencoin community as a separate blockchain focused on decentralized finance and commerce. Development was announced in September 2022, with the project designed to extend the Ravencoin model with additional DeFi functionality.
The Evrmore mainnet launched on October 31, 2022, when block #1 was mined. Before launch, a snapshot of the Ravencoin blockchain was used to create the initial EVR distribution through a genesis airdrop. Ravencoin assets were not copied to Evrmore.
Since launch, development has expanded the network's asset and DeFi functionality while maintaining its UTXO-based architecture. The open-source ecosystem includes Evrmore Core, mining software, blockchain explorers, developer libraries, and applications such as EvrLight and Nostr4Evr.
Development has continued through the public Evrmore repositories, with recent work including continued Core development and preparation of additional protocol functionality through testnet releases.
Tokenomics and Emissions
EVR is the native cryptocurrency of the Evrmore blockchain. The network is designed with a maximum supply of less than 21 billion EVR. Some EVR can also be removed from circulation through asset operation fees and other network mechanisms.
The Evrmore mainnet launched with a block subsidy of 2,778 EVR per block, with 90% allocated to the miner and 10% directed to the miner development fund. The subsidy is reduced by half at intervals of 1,648,776 blocks, approximately every 3.137 years.
The development fund is designed to provide ongoing funding for Evrmore Core and related development. Transaction fees are also included in the blockchain's economic model, while certain asset operations can permanently remove EVR from circulation.
Roadmap
Evrmore's development roadmap focuses on expanding its asset and DeFi capabilities while improving the network's infrastructure and developer tools. The project's public repositories include dedicated roadmap and development resources for future protocol work.
Current development areas include Evrmore Core improvements and expanded asset functionality. Evrmore Core V2 development has included features such as asset tolls, NFT royalties, burn and remint functionality, and additional RPC functionality, with these features being tested on the Evrmore testnet.
The project is also developing EvrLight, an integration designed to connect Evrmore's asset functionality with Bitcoin Lightning, as well as Nostr4Evr and other ecosystem tools intended to expand the practical use of Evrmore assets.
